Cutters: Contemporary Collage Exhibition + Gestalten: Cutting Edges
Posted in Uncategorized on February 4th, 2011

Some of my new works are featured amongst some great artists in the Cutters: Contemporary Collage Exhibition which opens this Saturday, 5th February at the West Cork Arts Centre in Skibbereen, Ireland.
For this exhibition the American artist and curator James Gallagher has brought together over 50 artists from all over the world to illustrate the range and depth of collage taking place today. This exhibition is the third in the Cutters series (Cinders Gallery, Brooklyn in 2009, and Pool Gallery, Berlin in 2010), and will continue to showcase the excitement of the newly invigorated art form of collage.

My work is also featured in this new hardcover book titled Cutting Egdes: Contemporary Collage published by Gestalten in Berlin, Germany which has been released to coincide with the opening of the Cutters exhibition.
Cutting Edges documents the new heyday of collage in current art and visual culture. Today’s artists, illustrators, and designers are increasingly drawn to this artistic technique by the challenges of seamlessly melding traditional craftsmanship with skilled computer montage. They are not only composing a wide variety of visual elements, but are also deliberately omitting, deleting, and destroying them. This book is an inspiring collection of these unique examples of contemporary collage.
